WEDDING HAT & HEAD SIZE

To find your head size, please place a tape measure on your forehead, going around above your ears making sure you include the widest part of your head.

Most of our wedding hats are the standard head size of 57cm. Ladies head sizes generally range between 52cm to 60cm, with most around 57cm.

Your wedding hat can be adjusted very easily to fit your head if you have a smaller head size.

Or you can email us when you place your order, and we can adjust your wedding hat, but please bear in mind that whilst we will do our best to adjust it to fit perfectly, it is often better for you to adjust your wedding hat yourself to ensure the elastic tension is just right for you.

We are happy to adjust your wedding hat size for free, but we cannot accept returns or exchanges of wedding hats that have been adjusted.

METHOD 1. INSERTING MATERIAL UNDERNEATH RIBBON

Material such as thick felt can be placed underneath the ribbon which is already inside the wedding hat.

METHOD 2. DOUBLE SIDED FOAM TAPE AND RIBBON

This took us about 10 minutes, and reduced the size of the wedding hat from 57cm to 55cm.

We used double sided foam tape, which is 2mm thick, and 1 cm wide, and some ribbon.

Attach the foam tape to the ribbon which is already there on the inside of the wedding hat. Then attach some ribbon to the foam tape.

Foam tape which is 1mm or 3mm thick can also be used.

METHOD 3. SEW ELASTIC TO THE RIBBON INSIDE THE WEDDING HAT

This took us about 10 minutes, and reduced the size of the wedding hat from 57cm to 52cm.

We used some elastic ribbon, and a needle and thread.

Stitch the elastic band / elastic ribbon to the ribbon which is already there on the inside of the wedding hat. Each stitch was about an inch apart, and you have to stretch the elastic as you stitch, so it is under tension.

Depending on how much you stretch the elastic as you stitch, you can adjust a wedding hat as required to a head size anywhere between 57cm and 52cm.
